Chandrayan – Crafted on Eco-Friendly Bamboo-less Sticks
Why we choose bamboo-less, natural cores over conventional sticks — cleaner burning, no charcoal or toxins, and gentler on the planet.
Look closely at an ordinary agarbatti and you will find a thin bamboo stick at its core. That stick never really burns cleanly — it chars, releasing a sharp, woody smoke that competes with the fragrance and irritates the throat. We decided our incense would do without it entirely.
Chandrayan sticks are bamboo-less. The fragrant paste is rolled around a natural, combustible core, so the entire stick burns as one — no charred bamboo, no bitter aftertaste, just the clean scent of the herbs and oils themselves.
Better for you, gentler on the earth
Removing the bamboo does more than improve the aroma. It means less irritating smoke for sensitive lungs, and it lets us use recycled temple flowers and natural binders in the core — waste that would otherwise be dumped into rivers becomes the heart of something fragrant.
The best incense should disappear into the room, leaving only calm behind — never a cloud you have to wave away.

Each stick is hand-rolled and sun-dried, then tested for an even, long-lasting burn. There is no charcoal, no synthetic fixative, and no artificial colour — only ingredients you could name.
It is a small change with a large consequence: a stick that is kinder to your body, to the artisans who make it, and to the planet it eventually returns to.
